Chelsea is a passionate advocate for quality education, and she is a force for positive change in San Mateo County schools.
Chelsea's vision is for San Mateo County to be known for ensuring that all students learn to read in our schools, including students with dyslexia and other learning disabilities, AND for ensuring that families and students with mental health challenges and diagnoses are supported in trauma-free, resource-embedded, and empathetic environments at every turn.
As County Superintendent of Schools for San Mateo County, Chelsea will be a champion for educators, families and students as she continues her decades of work to make sure that we provide the best possible education for every student in San Mateo County.
Chelsea's experience as a primary school teacher, an attorney, a mom, an advocate for mental health support and disabilities rights, and an education leader at the school, district and county levels, in addition to her courage to stand up for the transparency, respect, and resources that students, families, and educators require in order to thrive in our public school system, make her the most qualified candidate.
